The Oregon Coast in the Winter

I gotta say that it's killing me to be stuck in the valley this month, surrounded by cold fog that doesn't lift.  The easy solution is to get out of the valley.  If you head to Central Oregon, or the Oregon coast, you will slip out of the fog and into the sun!  It will still be cold, but generally the winds will be light.  It's a great time to walk on the beach, take a hike, shop or play golf.  Golf in the winter can be fabulous at the coast.  Not only can it be sunny and warmer than the valley, but winter rates make it a no brainer.  The antique shops and weekend bazaars are a great way to top off your holiday shopping as well.

I also like to go to the coast during a winter storm.  The wind and rain allow you to stay inside, hunkered down with a warm beverage, a down throw, perhaps a puzzle, and bunch of good dvd's.  The comfort of your nest you can marvel at the temper tantrum mother nature is having outside.

The river is always a source of good entertainment, no matter the weather. Have a convinced you yet?  If so, I'll see you there.
